You may or may not have heard this rather crazy claim that you don't need to exercise while taking HCG diet drops and doing the HCG diet. Interestingly, it's true. But there's a little more to it than that.
This article is definitely for you if you: (1) want to feel good about not exercising, (2) want to know why no exercise is necessary, or (3) want to keep on exercising even though you don't need to. Read on to get the low-down on exercise during the HCG diet.
Fact: You Truly Don't Need to Exercise
The heading says it. While taking HCG diet drops, exercise isn't necessary. HCG diet drops will access your stored fat and make it available for use as fuel, so you can go on a low-calorie diet with little or no hunger and still have enough energy. However, you're only getting a small amount of calories through your stomach. Heavy exercise depletes your available energy too fast.
Vigorous exercise makes you feel both hungry and tired, so the diet is harder, and you are more likely to cheat and stall. Why make it harder for yourself? The HCG diet works best without any exercise.
For People Who Want to Continue Exercising
Although not part of the protocol invented by Dr. Simeons, it might be possible to lose weight on the HCG diet while still exercising. Evidence isn't conclusive, so don't try this unless you're ready to risk stalling or maybe even gaining some weight. Basically, you will take 3/4 of the calories you burn by exercising and add it to the normal 500 calories permitted on the HCG diet. So you will be eating a bit more than the standard diet, but not enough to fully make up what you burn by exercising. Only try this if you're really devoted to your exercise routine. Otherwise it probably isn't worth it.
Advice
Even though you don't have to exercise, it's still suggested that you spend 30 minutes each day doing something active. This will help you set up the healthy habits you'll need to maintain your weight and your healthy life even after you're done with your HCG diet drops.
